Dean Joseph Betz, 61, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on May 21, 1955, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Carl Fred and Mary Louise (Tiell) Betz.

Survivors include his brother, Ronald G. (Hilda) Betz of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Deb Betz of Tiffin; cousin, friend and caregiver, Andrew J. Gibson of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry C. Betz; and sister, Janice S. Betz.

Dean graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School and from Terra Technical College with an associate’s degree.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan.  Dean loved to socialize with family and friends.

His Funeral Service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
