Donald P. Seifert, 91, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, September 13, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.

He was born on April 14, 1926, in Lakeland, FL to Paul and Laura Ann (Goshe) Seifert.  On October 1, 1949, he married Ida May Mack.

Survivors include his wife, of 68 years, Ida of Tiffin; four sons, Ron (Karin) Seifert of Chandler, AZ, Dan Seifert of Port Clinton, Steve (Shirley) Seifert of Tiffin and Larry (Laura) Seifert of Perrysburg; sister, Betty (Jerry) Poignon of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Lisa Cooley, Brian Seifert, Christine Seifert, Angela Seifert, Mitchell Seifert and Brandon Seifert; and three great grandchildren, Tayshawn Harrison, Kiana Harrison and Elwood Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Phil Seifert; and sisters, Rose Mary Dariano and Carolyn Fisher.

Donald served in the United States Navy from August 25, 1944 to June 24, 1946.  In 1986, he retired from General Electric after working over 25 years.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin American Legion #169 and Tiffin Eagles #402.  Donald was a handyman, amateur inventor, had a few patents and enjoyed music, playing guitar, writing songs and singing.

A Funeral Mass for Ida May and Donald will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial for Ida May and Donald will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where the Seneca County Veterans Council will honor Donald with military rites

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a local veteran’s organization.
