Gaye Berrier Obituary

Gaye Berrier, 80 passed away 10:15 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Independence House in Fostoria.

Gaye was born March 10, 1937 to the late Gertrude (Wagner) and Frank Hossler. She graduated in 1954 from Bloomville High School. Gaye married Dean Berrier at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin on June 16, 1956.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Berrier of Tiffin; sons, Steve (Shannon) Berrier of Frankfurt, Ky., Michael (Kelly) Berrier of Tiffin; daughters, Kelly (Ron) Brickner of Fostoria, Theresa Scherger of Findlay; brothers, Donald Hossler of Tiffin, Ned (Carol) Hossler of Tiffin, John Wagner of Tiffin; sisters, June Kistler of Indiana, Norma Wagner of Tiffin; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Gaye was preceded in death by her parents; and infant son, Jeffrey Berrier; siblings, Al Hossler, Robert Hossler, Phillip Hossler, Frank Hossler, Daryl Hossler and Doug Hossler.

Gaye was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and together, Gaye and Dean ran Dean Berrier Excavating for over 50 years. Gaye was also active in the H-L Football Mothers Club and was a board member on the Hopewell Loudon School board. She enjoyed cheering for her Ohio State Buckeyes and going on various gambling trips.

Friends and Family may visit from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, and (419) 447-2424. Her service will be at 10 A.M. at the funeral home on March 8, 2018 with Rev. Gary Walters officiating, burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery; family and friends are invited to a luncheon at Tiffin VFW 2858 afterwards at 11:30 A.M.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gaye’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or F.A.C.T of Seneca County.
