Gerard H. “Jerry” Seifert, 74, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday morning, November 6, 2017 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on March 16, 1943, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Richard T. and Catherine (Ward) Seifert.  On June 15, 1985, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, he married Janet Miller and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2009.

Survivors include his four sons, Ron Seifert of Defiance, Brian Seifert of Roseville, MI, Bradley (Tina) Seifert of Apison, TN and Douglas Seifert of Valrico, FL; daughter, Deborah (Dave) Carpenter of Findlay;  sisters, Rita (Earl) Rogier and Janet (Jim) Hoffbauer, both of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Kenneth R. Seifert and Infant brother, Ronald Seifert.

Jerry  graduated in 1961 from Tiffin Calvert High School, was a self taught mechanic working at Tiffin Ford and retiring from Findlay Ford in 2005.  When Jerry was younger, he worked on the family farm.  He was a volunteer EMT for New Riegel for 12 years and enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, carpentry, restoring vintage tractors, trips to the Amish Country and traveling the World.  Jerry loved spending time with his family and loved his dog, Pooch, a 190-pound English Bull Mastiff.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. on Thursday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
