Helen Lois Ferguson, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday morning, March 19, 2018 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
She was born on November 16, 1929, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Hubert and Goldie (Reninger) Abel. On March 30, 1965, she married Albert Ferguson.
Survivors include her three sons, Mike (Patty) Mack of Tiffin, Gary (Char) Carrick of Sycamore and Scott “Fergy” (Denise) Ferguson of Upper Sandusky; two daughters, Celeste (Bruce) Hickle and Susan Howell, both of Tiffin; brothers, Sonny (Doris) Abel of Columbus, Kenny (Donna) Abel of Georgia, Jack (Nancy) Abel of Defiance and Jim (Barb) Abel of Florida; sisters, Carol (Larry) Fleming of Sycamore, Charlotte Hartzell of Columbus and Patricia (Andy) Reiderman of Willard; 16 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; son, Edward Faber; and brother, Louie Abel.
Helen graduated from McCutchenville High School. She worked as a nursing assistant at Ruffing Care Center, as a barmaid at Ransoms Tavern in Sycamore and for a short time at a factory, but the job she really loved was being a mother and homemaker. Helen was a bit of a history buff and enjoyed visiting museums and old cemeteries. She enjoyed fishing, hunting for puffballs and mushrooms, gardening, reading, remodeling, had a love for the outdoors and loved her dogs, Angel and Peanut.
Friends may visit with the family from 3-6:00 P.M. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A dinner will follow at Reino’s.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
