Kenneth A. Yoakum, Sr., 83, of rural Tiffin, went to be with the lord Monday morning, July 24, 2017 at his home.

On November 29, 1933 in Bettsville, he was born to Howard and Geraldine (Swickard) Yoakum.  He married Ernestine Harrison in 1950, they later divorced, and she survives in Fremont.  He married Nancy Byrne on November 30, 1984 and she survives.

Survivors include sons, Ken (Barbara) Yoakum of Bettsville and Denis (Kimberly) Yoakum of Bettsville; stepson; Christopher Alt of Tiffin; daughters Charlie (Timothy) Leichty of Findlay, Chris Holman (Jack Hickman) of North Carolina, and Charity Yoakum (Dave Hagar) of Bettsville; stepdaughter Angie (Doug) Brown of Pataskala, OH; sisters Patricia (Neil) Hassinger of Wadsworth, OH and Sue (J.D.) Cataline of Pandora, OH.; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Gary Yoakum, and son in law Michael Holman.

Kenneth was a member of Hopewell Church of God and a 1951 graduate of Bettsville High School.  He was a lifelong farmer and Organization Director of the Seneca County Farm Bureau for years. He had been a realtor in Tiffin, enjoyed gardening, vacationing in Tennessee, following his favorite sports teams, sitting on his porch watching the birds and enjoying nature.  

His service will be Friday July 28, 2017 at 10:00 at Hopewell Church of God with Pastor Terry Steinhauer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.

Friends may visit on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 4-8 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
