To Kent, been a long time since our days at Berg. I had just gone to my mail box and picked up the Heidelberg Bulletin that was laying there. Usually I just throw it away because Berg and Tiffin are such old memories that didn't have a place in my current life until today. My spouse Michelle passed away due to cancer February 8th of this year. She was everything to me. There was no one I had met in all my numerous travels around the globe that was one millionth of the person that you were other than Michelle. I just went in and talked to Michelle (her urn) about all the kindness you showed to me. You sold me your white 67 Fastback Mustang, you let me fly the airplane back from our football scouting trip to Indiana, which I accidentally over the Ft Wayne airport as a military jet was taking off, and more importantly you remained a true friend till we went our separate paths. So Kent, I need one more favor from you, please introduce yourself to Michelle in heaven and be her best as you were my best friend at Berg. God bless you and all that love you. John

Remembering the good times at OSU when we first met. The numerous Reonions (I think this is Cindy's version of reunions) with Kent and the group where the most enjoyable. Prayers to the family.

My first best friend. Grew up a block away in the "East End". Class mates through grade school, junior high, and high school. Remember you helping me through math at your mom's kitchen table. Always looked up to you Kent.

Remember playing "home run derby " in your side yard, sleep overs in your mom's shop, the carbide cannons, slot cars, and the antenna turner your dad made so we could tune in Toledo, Cleveland and Detroit television. Remember how afraid you were of our Great Dane and your advice and support when I stood my ground against the neighborhood bully.

A fine friend and good man.

Lynn, my heart is with you and family. Have fond memories of the Columbian High School graduating class for which Kent was a big part. Definitely looked up to those poised, kind individuals as role models. Kent's life speaks to that consistency. He will always be a part of you, and I have no doubt your love and talents helped him greatly. Sending hugs and blessings that each day gets easier.

A great friend, an honest man, a hard worker and a man driven to do his best for himself, his community and most of all his family. If only we could all say we we're able to accomplish what he did. Thank you to the whole family for sharing him with all of us.

Kent was my son's bus driver last year and also would come to our Cub Scout Pack meetings and chat with him. Collin always enjoyed seeing him and would get excited when he saw him. We went to a cub scout camp last weekend and Collin asked about Kent.......it broke my heart to tell him that he had passed. We talked a lot about him and Collin was truly heartbroken. I reminded him that Kent was battling for some time now and was no longer suffering.....well as you can imagine through the eyes of my 9 year old he just couldn't understand. Know that he touched so many and he was a positive influence for those still finding their footing in life. Sending our thoughts and prayers to you all.

I met Kent when he was a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts in Tiffin. He was a huge influence on my early years in Boy Scouts with his knowledge, wisdom, and guidance. He took a personal interest in my future in Boy Scouts, and convinced me to see it all the way through. Even though my first year was extremely rough, Kent insisted I had it in me to be a Boy Scout. I'm always grateful he told me to stick with Scouting and to not let one bad experience get me down. I'll miss you Kent!

We deeply mourn the passing of our dear friend Kent. He and his family, including his parents., have always been a wonderful part of our yearly Homecoming experience. Kent was a special man in our lives. My dad, Andy, played football with Sterling at the Home. Kent will always be in our hearts. and minds.
