Russell D. Martorana, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on August 28, 1926, in Bagheria, Sicily to Diego “Dick” and Rosa (Giamonco) Martorana.  On October 22, 1955, he married Theresa A. Fraschini and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2009.

Survivors include his two sons, Richard (Mary) Martorana of Greenville, MI and Joseph (Peggy) Martorana of Tiffin; daughter, Rose (Craig) Goshe of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister.

Russell moved from Sicily to the United States in 1947  and served in the United States Army from March 17, 1951 to March 10, 1954.  He retired in 1989 from Whirlpool in Clyde after 35 years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was an usher and was also a member of the Tiffin Moose #846 and the Tiffin Eagles #402.   Russell enjoyed golfing, line dancing, polka music, doing yard work and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
