Vivian E. (Escover) Sims

Vivian E. Sims, 97, of Tiffin, went to be with Jesus, Sunday morning, July 16, 2017 at Elmwood Assisted Living at the Shawhan.

She was born on March 10, 1920, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Russell and Inez (Fitch) Escover.  On October 6, 1938, she married Robert Sims.

Survivors include her son, Robert Daniel “Dan” (Penny) Sims of Sandy, Utah; daughter, Sue A. (Steve Miller) Parrish of Tiffin; sister, Bonnie Wetzel of Zanesville; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, Russell Escover, Jr.; special friend, Rex Noble, and grandson, Gregory Parrish.

Vivian graduated from St. Nicholas High School in 1938, owned her own hair salon in Zanesville for many years and was Director of Volunteer Operations at Good Samaritan Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing euchre, being on her computer, and going out to eat.  She spent most of her life in Zanesville, moving to Tiffin in 2005 to be closer to her family. 

Her Memorial Service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Christ Church, where she attended, with Pastor Curt Gallmeyer officiating.  A luncheon will follow at the church.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service and afterwards at the luncheon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ’s Church at Tiffin.
