Lela Windau Obituary

Lela Mae Windau, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

She was born on December 07, 1931, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Lee and Mabel (Frank) Tuman.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Sue) Windau of Tiffin and Robert Lee (Tanya) Windau of Bettsville; daughters, Rose Lynn (Dan) Steele of Bettsville and Mary Ann Wilson (Dave Feller), Kimbolton, OH, sister, Donna Randell of Fostoria (formerly of Tiffin); 11 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Tuman and Mabel Kightlinder.

Lela was a 1949 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, Lela owned and operated Windau’s B & B Cafe in Bettsville from 1963-1979. She later retired from Tiffin University where she worked in the maintenance department and waitressed at New Riegal Cafe for several years. Lela enjoyed playing cards with her friends, cooking and baking. She always had a fresh container of sugar cookies ready just in case her kids or grandkids would stop in for a visit. She enjoyed helping others in any way she could. Driving them to appointments, help cleaning, take grocery shopping etc. She had such a big heart. And always greeted you with a smile.

Burial will be private in Green Springs Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cycling Without Age Seneca County or to Good Shepherd Home.
