Patricia Berman was born to Harold and Martha (Scheiber) Musgrave on July 23, 1948, in Tiffin, Ohio, at Mercy Hospital.
Pat attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Calvert High School. Pat attended BGSU and had a teaching degree as well as a master’s degree in reading. Pat returned her love for education back to her community and taught grade school at St. Joseph School for 43 years.
Pat married Paul Berman on May 2, 1970, at St. Joseph Church. They shared 50 years of marriage. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters Christine (Marty) Ward and Jennifer (Steve Hiser) Berman, both of Tiffin; a brother, Steven Allen Musgrave, of Painsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Edward Lauterbach) and Tyler Ward.
Pat dedicated her life to making learning fun and enjoyed projects and allowing her students to creatively express themselves. She was known for not giving homework on hot days because she didn’t want to “fry their brains”. Pat was very involved in special Olympics. Above all, she was the proud mother of Christine and Jennifer, and grandmother to Cheyenne and Tyler. Pat believes they are her greatest accomplishments.
Pat had a strong faith and was a member of St. Joseph Church and served as a lector and eucharistic minister.
Donations may be made to Calvert, Special Olympics or the Seneca County School of Opportunity.
