Alvin F. Ringlein, 81, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday evening, November 14, 2019 at St. Francis Home.
He was born on March 31, 1938, in Willard, Ohio, to John J. and Otilla (Phillips) Ringlein. On April 17, 1971, in Wakeman, Ohio, he married Carol Jean O’Brien.
Survivors include his sisters, Joan Sutter of Avon and Donna (Dick) Schwab of Huron; brother in law, Ambrose (Caroline) O’Brien of Norwalk; Sisters-in-law, Pat (Earl) Harris of Florida; Lola (Robert) Dusza of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Ringlein in 2018; and infant brother, John Blair, Jr. and brother-in-law, Tom Sutter.
Alvin graduated in 1956 from Willard High School, was a farmer and field inspector in that area for years, before moving to Tiffin. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Tiffin Eagles #402, Attica Knights of Columbus #626 and enjoyed gambling, traveling, playing cards, sheering sheep, and with his wife were foster parents for many over the years.
His Mass will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at St. Francis Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit at St. Francis Home Chapel on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass.
