Bessie E. Karle, 89, of Tiffin and St. Francis Home, passed away Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1927, in Tiffin, to Mearl and Mildred (Baum) Digby.  On August 29, 1959, in Tiffin, she married Rudolf Eugene Karle.

Survivors include her husband, Rudolf of Tiffin; two sons, Dennis Eugene (Gita) Karle of Canton, Mass and David Brian (Lori) Karle of Cuyahoga Falls; five grandchildren, Ryan, Shaun, Vijay, Emily, Priya; sister, Donna; and two brothers, Kenneth and George (Linda) Digby.

She was preceded in death by her children, Richard Allan and Donald Lee; and brother, William Digby.

After graduating from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1945, she worked at Hubach Dairy and American Standard for 14 years in the payroll department.  She was a homemaker, den mother for Cub Scouts, was a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church and enjoyed going to performances at the Ritz Theatre with her husband.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at The First Lutheran Church with Pastor Clayton Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
