Carl L. “Yaz” Wilson, 66, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, May 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 6, 1951, in Tiffin, Ohio to Alexis and Wilma Wilson.  On August 22, 1987, he married Rhonda Woten.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda of Tiffin; daughters, Angela R. (Andrew) Mathias of Melmore, Christina L. (Brian) Kindle of Upper Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Daniel) Winings of Tiffin; daughter, Amy Tucker; sisters, Deborah Company of Florida and Rebecca (Greg) Wilson-Souza of Montana; brothers, Stanley Wilson of Tiffin and William Wilson of Colorado; ten grandchildren, Kearstin, Kaitlyn, Kaidan, Kinzie, Triston, Alayna, Brylee, Karissa, Branyon and Rayna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Winings; grandson, Caleb Kindle; and nephew, Orran Wilson.

Carl “Yaz” graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1969, worked at G.E. Bridgestone APM, and retired from Heritage Family Center in January of this year.  He was a founding member of the Bambini Brothers (BOSS), member of Tiffin Eagles Aerie #402.  He had a passion for bowling in which he achieved a 300 series and bowled in the Big 8 League for many years.  Yaz loved golfing, Ohio State, Cleveland Indians, NASCAR and sprint car racing and squirrel hunting with his friends and son.  Lake Erie and Kelly’s Island were his Happy Place.  He loved being surrounded by family and friends and he “lived for the Happy”, sharing and gathering with family and friends.  He said, “hearing the laughs was the best medicine.”

His Celebration of Life will be from 1-5:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Tiffin Eagles.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
