Carmela B. (Guarnieri) Monaco

Carmela B. Monaco, 94, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday evening November 28, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 3, 1925, in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy, one of six children to Michele and Michelina (Circelli) Guarnieri. On January 10, 1948, she married Donato Monaco and he preceded her in death in 2000.

Survivors include her two sons, Benny (Debbie) Monaco of Rossford where she lived the past three years; Tony (Belinda) Monaco of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Maria Laubenthal, Tammy Birchall, Dan Monaco, Lisa Olrich, Rob Monaco, Nichole Sutherland; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carmela and Donato left Italy for Venezuela and later moved to Tiffin in 1960 to provide a better life for their family, family was their everything.

Carmela was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church, A wonderful homemaker, who loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.  Her joy was her kitchen, always cooking, baking, and making sure every visitor left with a full stomach.  She also took great pride in taking care of her garden and Fig trees.  

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will begin 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family and share stories from 3-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
