Dale E. Foltz

Dale E. Foltz, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Tiffin Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on March 15, 1930, in Canton, Ohio, to Jay and Gladys (Hart) Foltz.  On November 14, 1959, he married Andrea Briihl.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea Foltz of Tiffin; son, Jim (Katherine) Foltz of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Kathy Smith of Ann Arbor, MI; brother, Dick Foltz of Anaheim, CA; and three grandchildren, Sean and Kyle Smith and Tori Foltz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom Foltz; and sister, Pat Warren.

Dale graduated from Canton McKinley High School, from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and from Case University with a Master of Mechanical Engineering.  He served in the United States Army and retired as an Engineer from National Machinery in 1992 and was a member of their Quarter Century Club.  He helped start the Tiffin Tennis Association and enjoyed playing pickle ball at the YMCA, golfing, genealogy and was an OSU fan.  Dale also enjoyed riding his bicycle cross-country and rode from Washington to Maryland.

His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with Rev Kurt Blaufuss officiating.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may visit with family from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the Service on Saturday at the Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tiffin Rehabilitation Center, Trinity United Church of Christ or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
