Donna L. Reis, 86, of East U.S. 224, Tiffin, passed away Thursday Afternoon, March 14, 2019 at St. Francis nursing home following a lengthy battle with kidney disease.
Donna was born in Seneca County on February 19, 1933 to Charles and Lucille Ink. On April 19, 1934, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin she married Richard “Dick” L. Reis and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Surviving are her three children, Christy (Whitey) Florence of Bloomville, Eric (Janet Rivas) Reis, and Cheryl (Chris King) Hammer, of rural Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Ben) Collar, Captain Jason Florence USMC, Megan Florence, Brittani (Jason) McClaflin, Clint (Blake Harris) Reis, Danielle (Nick Zollman) Reis, JT (Sara) Hammer and Erika (Luke) Leppla; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Lucy, and Brody Collar, Brock Reis Brause, Ryker and Finn McClaffin, Maxwell and Harrison Hammer and Della, Trent, and Cora Leppla.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Ink; and sister, Carol Jacoby.
Donna graduated from Eden Local School in Melmore, Ohio in 1951, where she was valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she worked at GE and the Bull Farm in Tiffin and then worked for R&I Construction, a family business, as a bookkeeper and later as a bid composer until 2004.
Mrs. Reis loved cooking, needlework, and especially playing cards with her family. She enjoyed watching Ohio State Basketball, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren!
Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
