Erma Jean (Theis) Shellhammer

Erma Jean Shellhammer, 73, of New Riegel, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.

She was born on October 27, 1945, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Ralph, Sr. and Josephine A. (Elchert) Theis.  On June 12, 1976, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, she married Charles Shellhammer.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Shellhammer of New Riegel; son, Ronnie Shellhammer of New Riegel; daughters, Jody (Brett) Logan of Tiffin and Angela Shellhammer of Bellefontaine; brothers, Ralph (Barb) Theis, Jr. of New Riegel, Darl (Kathy) Theis of New Riegel and Kenny Theis of Hendersonville, TN; and granddaughter, Kaylee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronald Theis and sister, Diana Elchert.

Erma graduated in 1963 from New Riegel High School, was an assembler for 10 years at RCA and retired, after 19 years, from RR Donnelley.  She was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel, the Rosary Altar Society and the New Riegel Right to Life.  She was also a member of the New Riegel American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting prayer shawls, baking, reading, scrapbooking, puzzles, playing games, going to garage sales, helping with funeral dinners and visiting shut-ins.  Family was very important to Erma and she loved spending time with her granddaughter, Kaylee.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, October 18, 2019 at All Saints Parish at the New Riegel Site with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery

Friends may visit with the family from 3-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass on Friday at Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Riegel Right to Life, All Saints Parish or to New Riegel High School Library.
