Eugene David Price

Eugene David Price, 71, of Republic, went to join the Lord and farm his fields on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Tiffin to the late Delbert and Agnes (Oswald) Price on June 12, 1947.  He married Judith Hohman in St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel on November 27, 1969.

He is survived by his wife, Judith along with their children, John (Regina) Price of Bloomville; Caroline (Gregory) Byrne and their children, Kelli and Ethan Byrne all of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marlene Musselman and many nieces and nephews.

Eugene was a former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Republic and a 1965 graduate of Scipio Republic High School.  He worked at the Tiffin State Dairy Farm and retired from Seneca Tile.  He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed going to farm auctions, parading antique tractors with wagons, and showing livestock at the Seneca County and Attica Fairs.  He loved talking to Seneca East and Fremont Stamm Elementary students about farming and Amish culture.  Eugene had a pair of Hafflinger horses named Henry and Lady that pulled wagons.  He adored his grandchildren, Kelli and Ethan Byrne and was so proud of them learning to drive tractors.

His service will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Friends may visit and share stories on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
