Gregory E. Sykes

Gregory E. “Greg” Sykes, 69, of Tiffin, Ohio, passed away on Monday afternoon, April 16, 2018 at his home.

He was born on May 20, 1948, in Tiffin, Ohio, to James D. and Marguerite (SanGregory) Sykes.  On January 11, 1969, he married Kathy L. Weithman.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Tiffin; three sons, Matthew (Kimberly) Sykes of Snohomish, WA, Jeffrey (Angie) Sykes of Tiffin and Ryan (Sarah) Sykes of Hilliard; two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Gaietto of Tiffin and Christiane (Andrew) Eggers of Hilliard; three sisters, Judy (Matt Gorski) Accetta of Pittsburg, PA, Diana (Steve) Melroy of Newark and Rose (Leroy) Eisenhauer of Clyde; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Greg graduated in 1967 from Tiffin Calvert High School and worked at Webster Mfg. for 46 years, retiring in 2013.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #608.  Church and faith were very important to Greg.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, fishing, was a true Cleveland fan and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Greg loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
