Helen Weott Obituary

Helen Rose (Zoeller) Weott, 93, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday evening November 27, 2019 surrounded by family.

She was born on January 27, 1926, in New Riegel, Ohio, to Edward and Isabell (Lenhart) Zoeller. She was married to Paul C. Weott for 46 years until his death on December 30, 1993.

Helen is survived by her children, Diane (David) Benner of Tiffin, Patricia Weott of Tiffin, and Paul (Lisa) Weott of Florida. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren, Annalisa, Rachel, Daniel, Teresa, Kyle, Tyler and Emily; and three great-grandchildren, Luke, Lizzie, and Charissa.

She is also survived by her loving and thoughtful sister, Pauline (Ed) Wangler and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers Edward, Joe, Paul, Robert, and Eugene.

Helen was a graduate of New Riegel High School where she participated in choir and cheerleading. She had several jobs after high school; working at General Electric Company in Tiffin was her favorite employment.

Helen and her husband Paul owned and operated the Paul C Weott Excavating Contractor business in Tiffin. Helen loved math and challenges, so bidding jobs and calculating payroll were in keeping with her many talents.

She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. Cherished dishes remembered by her family include apple dumplings, cherry pie and fried chicken. Holidays and celebrations regularly saw these dishes on the table, followed by laughter-filled rounds of Euchre. Helen was also a very accomplished seamstress. Because of her love of the great outdoors, Helen spent a lot of time mowing lawns and planting a huge garden. She also enjoyed boating on the lake and catching perch.

She faithfully attended St. Joseph Church, singing in the Sunday and funeral choirs for many years, even into her 80’s.

Helen’s hospitable nature assured an open seat to chat at the kitchen table or a listening ear on the phone. She was much loved and appreciated.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will begin 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
