James Doran Linthicum, 82, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on September 25, 1935, in Seneca County, to Herman Morgan and Evelyn M. (Hushour) Linthicum.  On June 17, 1956, he married Ruth M. Jamison and she preceded him in death on February 12, 2015.

Survivors include his sons, James R. (Kayla (Egbert)) Linthicum of Pickerington, Michael A. (Lisa (Baker)) Linthicum of Perrysburg and Arthur L. (Donna (Gross)) Linthicum of Rossford; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and special friend, Judith Murphy.

Jim graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School, attended Heidelberg College and retired as an Electrical Engineer after 45 years, from National Machinery, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.  He was a member and lifelong Elder at Trinity United Church of Christ, member of Tiffin Moose #846, national president of the American Gourd Society and volunteer at the School of Opportunity.   Jim enjoyed electronics, woodworking, traveling with Ruth, spending winters in Florida and had several U.S. patents.  While in Punta Gorda, Florida, he was very involved with the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church.  Jim had a pure sense of humor, loved life that showed through his actions and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His Memorial Service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with Rev. Kurt Blaufuss officiating.  Burial was private at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ.
