James A. “Jim” Hoover, 84, of Bascom, passed away Thursday morning, September 20, 2018 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
He was born to Arthur and Louise (Glick) Hoover on April 26, 1934 in Tiffin and for ten years was married to Mary, they separated and remained friends.
Jim is survived by a brother, John R. (Margaret) Hoover, sister, Phyllis (Jerry) Swander and sister in law, Lynn Hoover all of Bascom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Hoover and sisters, Anne Monaco, Helen Audritsh, and Mary Saum.
Jim was a parishioner of All Saints Parish, New Riegel, former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom and a 1952 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School and a Bascom Lions Club member. He joined the U.S. Army and was a surveyor by trade stationed in Libya. After his honorable discharged in 1963, he continued working as a surveyor, eventually as a partner at Peterman and Associates, Engineers in Findlay. After retirement, heworked with his brothers at Hoover’s Garage in Bascom for many years.
There will be private burial service at St. Patrick Cemetery with Rev. Tim Kummerer officiating.
