James “Patrick” Lauer, 62, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on April 16, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to James A. and Shirley (Stokus) Lauer. On September 9, 1978, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Victoria A. “Vickie” Daniel.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Lauer of Tiffin; daughters, Danielle (Shane) Henderson of Warsaw, IN, Laura (James) Wheeler of Honolulu, HI and Patty (Brent) Arbogast of Tiffin; son, Jimmy Lauer of Tiffin; brother, Michael (JoAnn) Lauer of Alaska; sister, Debbie Lauer of Elmore; and 10 grandchildren, Leah, Lilly, Brayden, Justice, Noah, Miranda, Lincoln, Eleanor, Reece and Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Patrick graduated in 1975 from Woodmore High School and from OSU/ATI. He worked at Horizon in Tiffin for several years, as a millwright at area auto factories and currently worked in the maintenance department and as a millwright at Mennell Milling in Fostoria for over ten years. Patrick was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was an FFA alumni, served on the Seneca County Fair Board, volunteered for the St. Joseph Festival and Bingo, enjoyed sports, loved to swim, and loved to go on gator rides with his grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, walking his five acres daily checking and talking to his pumpkins that he planted and sold for many years on SR 18. Patrick was a quiet man who teased everyone and loved spending time with his family.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
