Jeffery J. Huffman, 52, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, December 10, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on July 21, 1966, in Tiffin, Ohio, to George G. and Mary L. (Braciak) Huffman. On March 4, 2000, he married Jessica D. Hogan.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica of Tiffin; sons, Jeffery Huffman of Findlay and Joseph Huffman and Joshua Huffman, both of Tiffin; daughters, Jena Huffman of Tiffin and Alyssa Huffman of Carey; brothers, Chris (Debbie) Huffman of Tiffin and his twin, Jon (Rebecca) Huffman of Vickery; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was in preceded in death by his parents.
Jeffery graduated in 1984 from Hopewell Loudon High School and from Tiffin University with a Master’s of Science and Criminal Justice Degree. He served in the United States Army from 1984 to 1988 and then with the National Guard for five years. He retired in 2007, after 18 years, from the Fostoria Police Department as a detective, worked at the Seneca County Prosecutor’s Office as a Special Investigator from 2008 to 2009 and served as Executive Director of Campus Operations at Terra State Community College. Jeffery was a member of the Fostoria Fraternal Order of Police Culp Lodge #22, enjoyed classic cars and the Car Guys of Tiffin on Wednesdays at Buffalo Wild Wings, shooting his guns, vacationing in Florida and the New England area, wrestling with his boys, hunting and fishing. He was always worried about others first, always challenged his children with school and work, never complained and was supportive.
His Funeral Service will be at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the Service at the funeral home.
