John R. Flotron, III

The Rev. John R. Flotron, III, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on January 31, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, to John R., II and Charlotte M. (Rieger) Flotron II. 

Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Anna Marie (Jeffrey) Shanks and grandchildren of De Soto, MO.

John was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Esther Fite Flotron.

John graduated from Dayton Fairview High School in 1950, received his BA in 1954 from Heidelberg College and his Theology Degree in 1957 from Eden Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  He ministered in De Soto, MO, St. Louis, MO, Fort Seneca, OH, Old Fort, and retired from the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Sandusky, OH and was assistant Pastor to Ben Herbster in Norwood, Ohio. He enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, listening and singing operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan and loved his dogs.

A Graveside Service will be Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heidelberg University or Stein Hospice.
