Kelvin A. “Kelly” Addis, 58, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday afternoon, April 6, 2018 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on July 8, 1959, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Arlen and Betty (Throneberry) Addis.
Survivors include his mother, Betty of Tiffin; brother, Barry (Lori) Heyman of Tiffin; sister, Terri (Arnold) Jones of Tampa, FL; stepbrother, John Heyman, Jr. of Republic; stepsister, Brenda (Fred) Decker of Tiffin; nieces, Melyssa (Jamie) Macik of Miamsburg and Melynn (Thomas) Collins of Lutz, FL; nieces and nephews, Joshua Heyman, Amanda Hershberger, Cheyanne Heyman, Ethan Heyman and Britini Young; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arlen; stepfather, John W. Heyman; and sister, Pamela Sue Addis.
Kelly graduated in 1977 from Tiffin Columbian High School and attended The Ohio State University where he studied music. He had lived in Columbus for many years, later moving back to Tiffin. He had worked at the Ritz Theatre until recently and was a member of Tiffin Eagles #402 and the Tiffin AmVets Post 48. Music and Theatre were Kelly’s life. He traveled around the Eastern United States singing with the musical group, Jubilation. Kelly was very funny, kind hearted and made friends with everyone.
His funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with his cousin, Pastor Judy Glackin officiating. There will be a Celebration of Kelly’s life following the Service at The Tiffin Eagles, 68 Riverside Drive, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Service on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or to the Kelly Addis Scholarship Fund (Go Fund Me).
