Lenard Steyer, 68, of McCutchenville, passed away on Sunday morning, September 24, 2017 at his home.

He was born on December 4, 1948, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Richard J. and Georgia May (McGlaughlin) Steyer.  On June 14, 1969, he married Patricia Huffman.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of McCutchenville; son, Greg (Dawn Martin) Steyer of Sycamore; daughter, Kedra “Kay” (Chris) Fuhrer of Tiffin; sister, Margaretta (John) Covert of Tiffin; 6 grandchildren, Tyler Fuhrer, Katie Tiell, Corey Tiell, Aaron Steyer, Tessa Fuhrer and Devin Steyer; 4 great grandchildren, Carson Fuhrer, Bryn Tiell, Kollyns Fuhrer and Harper Hurt; and one expected great grandchild in a few weeks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant son.

Lenard graduated in 1968 from Mohawk High School, retired from American Standard after 30 plus years and worked for LJS Home Inspections for 10 years.  He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, served on their Board of Trustees and on the Administrative Council and built the Christmas Nativity Scene. He was a volunteer firefighter for the McCutchenville Fire Department and he enjoyed hunting, fishing at the lake, bowling, Scuba diving and was a Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Tigers and Michigan fan.  Lenard loved animals, especially his boxer, Chance and his guinea pig, Snickers and loved spending time with his family.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Matt Garrabrant officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony United Methodist Church or to Stein Hospice.
