Michael A. Welter, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, December 4, 2017 at his home after a brief illness.

On September 5, 1950 in Tiffin, he was born to Arthur E. and Patricia M. (Ames) Welter.  He married Deborah Wagner on September 1, 1973.

Survivors include his wife, son; Daniel  (Candace) Welter of Frederick, MD; brothers, Thomas Welter of Tiffin; James (LuAnn) Welter of Hendersonville, NC; Steve (Karen) Welter and George Welter both of Tiffin; and two grandchildren,  Caitlyn and Andrew Welter.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and a sister in law, Therese Welter.

Michael was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1968 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School.  After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked at National Machinery for over 49 years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed golfing, golfing with his wife, working on projects around the house and traveling. Michael will be remembered for his generosity and helping others in need.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.  A Christian Wake Service will begin at 1:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Organ Fund or Stein Hospice.
