Nancy Harlett, professionally known as Patchwork Nancy, passed away on March 10, 2018.
She was a graduate of Tiffin University and was employed at WTTF, also Tiffin Center for over 10 years, worked in the funeral business for eight years and was a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the Red Cross at Seneca Shores Quarry for nearly fifteen years.
Nancy was a professional guitarist and singer for over 50 years. In that time, she performed with the bands Country Folk, Dandelion Wine, Fox Run, Eagle River, Patchwork Folk Singers and 3 Mile Run.
She also worked as a solo artist as Patchwork Nancy. She worked with such artists as Jackie Gleasons Trumpet Players band, Louise Mandrell, Ben Jones (Cooter on Dukes of Hazard), Lulu Roman, Richie Havens, Duke Ellingtons Orchestra, Dell Reeves and Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys.
Nancy played at fairs and festivals all over Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Canada and entertained at over fifty nursing homes and retirement centers in the area for most of her fifty years as a musician.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Jude Keefe and Scott Thaddeus Keefe, both of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Melissa Keefe Balduff of Tiffin, Stephanie Keefe Everman of Texas and Tyler Keefe of Tiffin; three great grandchildren, Sayge, Kenzie and Duke Everman; and two step grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Roselyn Schieda; two nieces; and three great nephews, all from the Cleveland area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Manfred and Marcelline Harlett; sister, Janine Lortz; and daughter, Laura Judith Keefe.
Her body was donated to Ohio State University of College of Medicine.
A Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Tiffin Eagles #402, 68 Riverside Drive, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
