Paul R. “Dick” Walters, 91, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 22, 2018 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on December 18, 1926, in Bascom, Ohio, to Orville E. and Mary Evelyn (Shumaker) Walters. On May 10, 1947, in St. Boniface Rectory, he married Irene Elchert and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his three sons, Larry J. Walters of Tiffin, Ronald L. Walters of Delaware and Rev. Gary R. Walters of Tiffin; daughter Pamela A. (William) Robinson of Bucyrus; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Duane D. Walters; an infant brother; daughter-in-law, Sue Walters; and grandson, Brian Houle.
Dick graduated from Hopewell Loudon High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as an assembler at National Machinery for 44 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Dick was very good at baseball during his high school years and played on the National Machinery team. He was a Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed following and supporting his grandchildren in all their sports.
His Funeral Service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with his son, Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the Service at the funeral home.
