Phyllis A. Stine, 94, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday evening, July 26, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 30, 1924 in Eden Township, to Ralph and Emma (Wentz) Gulick. On June 4, 1950, she married Frederick “Bud” Stine in First Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2008. They were married for 57 years.
Survivors include her son, F. Thomas Stine, of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Cory (Renee) Stine of Port Clinton and Emily (Mark) Malloy of Rocky River; and four great-grandchildren, McKenzie Stine, Cooper Stine, Leah Malloy and Charlotte Malloy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Phyllis graduated from Eden Township Centralized School (Melmore High School) in 1942, St. Vincent Nursing School as a Nursing cadet and attended The Ohio State University. She was a Registered Nurse at Mercy for 19 years, where she helped with starting the ER and then worked more than 20 years at Tiffin Developmental Center. Phyllis was a member of First Lutheran Church, enjoyed traveling, RVing, dancing, convertibles, going to Lake Erie and vacationing and spending many winters in Mexico and Texas with her husband.
Her Memorial Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Clayton Bailey officiating. Burial will be private in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County or Cincinnati Shriner’s Hospital.
