Ronald W. “Ron” Rumschlag, 82, of Fostoria, passed away on Monday evening, August 20, 2018 at Good Shepherd Home.
He was born on July 24, 1936, in New Riegel, Ohio to Ralph and Agnes (Finsel) Rumschlag. On June 6, 1959, he married Margo Ann Karcher and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his three sons, William “Will” (Mindy Smith) Rumschlag of Tiffin, Michael “Moe” Rumschlag of Fostoria and Gregory (Tammy) Rumschlag of Tiffin; two daughters, Marcia (Randy) Hall of Dayton and Lisa (Benji) Herrera of Jenera; brother, Bernard (Joan) Rumschlag of New Riegel; sister, Suzanne (Cletus) Reinhart of New Riegel; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Leonard Rumschlag.
Ron graduated in 1954 from New Riegel High School, went to engineering school at Bowling Green State University and also took some courses at University of Toledo. He worked at Columbia Gas of Ohio, Maintenance and bus driver for New Riegel School, had his own heating and plumbing business and later retired from Sentinel Career Center. Ron enjoyed playing saxophone and clarinet in bands, camping throughout Ohio with his wife, Margo, singing and calling square dances, coaching baseball, umpiring little league and high school sports, watching sports on television, crossword puzzles and collecting coins.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
