Ruth Ann (Smith) Ludwig

Ruth Ann Ludwig, 80, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at her home.

She was born on October 16, 1938, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Urban and Helen (Walter) Smith.  She married David L. Molyett on May 25, 1957 and they later divorced.  She then married Raymond L. Ludwig on January 30, 1971 and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her five children, Robert Allen (Linda) Molyett of Attica, Kathy Ann (Jerry) Martin of Logansport, IN, Patricia Woods of Tiffin, Sandy Lee (Tim) Zender of Tiffin and Chris (Emily) Ludwig of Floyds Knobs, IN; seven grandsons, Robert Allen (Stacy) Molyett of Spanaway, WA, Matt (Melissa) Molyett of Ellicott City, MD, Ben  Molyett of Attica, Zach Zender of Tiffin, Cody (Krystin) Zender of McCutchenville, and Jacob Ludwig and Andrew Ludwig, both of Floyds Knobs, IN; four great grandsons; seven great granddaughters; sister, Helen Miller of Tiffin; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Smith; sisters, Pauline Kohlenberg and Norma Jean Smith; and grandson, Jeremy Musgrave.

Ruth graduated in 1956 from Old Fort High School and worked many years in several offices in Tiffin and was owner and operator of the Carey-Out Drive Thru for 10 years.  Her passion was traveling the United States and to visit all 50 states, which she accomplished in 2007.  Ruth also enjoyed volunteering for Mercy Hospital, St. Mary Catholic Church, The Ritz Theatre and at Bingo where she received the Volunteer of the Year in 2013.  She loved to play cards, Sudoku and watch the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Ruth was a diehard Cleveland fan.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Mammen officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
