Thomas B. Gaietto, 83, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 30, 1934, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Louis and Irma (Roos) Gaietto.  He married Mary C. McClellan  on May 5, 1956, in St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Mary of Tiffin; two sons, Tim (Jennifer) Gaietto of Tiffin and Nick ( Sharon) Gaietto of Freeport, FL, seven daughters, Mary Pat (Rob) Morris of Warrensville Heights, Theresa (Jeff) Heyman of Tiffin, Beth (Mike) Rossi of Lorton VA, Joan (Tom) Brundage of Tiffin, Jenny (Curt) Smith of Tiffin, Amy (Syd) Smith of Milford and Becky (Darryl) Milan of Newburgh, IN; sisters, Margaret Schleter of Tiffin and Sister Mary Angela OSU "Renee" of Toledo; sister- in-laws; Darlene Gaietto and Jeanne McClellan of Tiffin; 23 Grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence "Butch" Gaietto, Loiuse "Lupe" Gaietto, Joseph "Joe" Gaietto, Vincent "Vinnie" Gaietto, and Eugene "Nips" Gaietto; and sisters, Irma Hill and Sister Mary Merici  OSU "Angeline" .
Tom graduated in 1952 from Tiffin Calvert High School and was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church. He worked at General Electric in Tiffin until it closed in 1984 then moved with GE to Bowling Green Kentucky. He retired from GE after 45 years and moved back to Tiffin in 2013. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Bowling Green Kentucky and very active in both parish life and assisted with the renovation of the parish rectory. He was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus #608  where he devoted countless hours in community projects and service. Internationally, Tom was foster parent to a disabled child from Guatemala and notably a greater than 10 gallon blood donor for the Red Cross. He was generous with his time to his family, church and community. He also enjoyed traveling all over the world with friends and family.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Monday January 22, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 S. Washington St.,Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake service will begin at 3:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin.  Condolences may be sent and the guestbook sighed at www. hgmackfuneralhome.com.
