Albert C. Fate, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, April 23, 2015 at Elmwood at the Shawhan.

He was born in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late William M. and Marie M. (Wertz) Fate.

He is survived by first cousins, Patricia (Patterson) Doblinger, Mary Jo Elchert and Susan (Gunn) McFerren; and many other cousins in Seneca County and other places; and longtime neighbor and close friend, Larry J. Daughenbaugh.

He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Michael and Mary (Homier) Fate and maternal grandparents, Christian and Mary (Kopp) Wertz; and first cousins, Ruth Griffin, Catherine Crist, Hidelgarde Weatherholt, Bernard Distel, Jr., Carol Ann Patterson, Richard Bushcuhl, Jr., Robert Bushcuhl, Madeline Heck, Catherine Nemeth, Alice Gabringer, Della Fate, Bernard Fate, Jr., Thomas Fate, Pauline Roberts, Robert Wertz, William Wertz, Jr. and Harold Wertz.
Albert graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1949 and from Tiffin University in 1951 with an Accounting and Business Administration degree and in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree. He served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean War and was a bookkeeper for Hossler Brothers Construction for many years.

His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

There will be visitation for friends and family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
