Obituary

Alice R. Brickner, 98, of Weidman, MI and formerly of Bascom, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2026.

She was born on April 24, 1928 in Fostoria, Ohio, to Robert J. and Wilda R. (Criswell) Hottenstein. On August 11, 1951 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, she married Norman Brickner and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2022.

She is survived by her son, Joe (Cathy) Brickner of Weidman, MI; daughter, Theresa Anne (Toby Chase) of Hobart, IN; grandchildren, Sarah (Dustin) Kuipers, Jessica Brickner, Trent Chase and Troy Chase; and great grandchildren, Arabella Kuipers and Liam Kuipers

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ruth Irene Seem.

Alice was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel and former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom. She graduated in 1946 from Fostoria High School. Alice worked in the cafeteria at Hopewell-Loudon School for 19 years, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, counted cross stitching, going on J.B. tour trips, traveling and camping in almost every state.

Her Memorial Service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 08, 2026 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. Entombment will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Friday at the funeral home.
