Alice Madeline Brouse, 88, died Thursday evening, July 23, 2009, at Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.
September 4, 1920, she was born in Tiffin to Franklin and Gertrude (Swartzmiller) Wright. February 14, 1950, she married Charles F. Brouse Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Wallace) White of Delaware, Kathleen Sue (Mark) Hayman of Tiffin, a son-in-law, Leonard Benedict of Vermilion, three brothers, Brother Michael Wright of the O.F.M., Brusnwick, GA, Bob Wright of Lima, D. Mike Wright of Tiffin, a sister, Susie Kuhlman of Lancaster, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Charles in 1969, is a daughter, Rebecca Benedict, four brothers, Paul, Gene, Tom and Norm Wright, an infant sister, Marjorie Wright and a granddaughter, Alicia Benedict.
Alice was a 1938 graduate of Calvert High School, Mary Manse College in Toledo and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked at Ballreich Potato Chips, and was a secretary for Sterling Abrasive and Sohigro Fertilizer Plant in Sycamore, retiring in 1984. Alice enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers, and spending time at her Lake Erie cottage. She was a member of the Sycamore Garden Club and loved traveling with her brother to the southwest United States.
Graveside Services will be 11:30 AM, Monday, July 27, 2009 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sycamore, with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.
Friends may visit with the family 10:00 - 11:00 AM, Monday, July 27, 2009, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Village of Sycamore Swimming Pool Renovation Project.
