Alice Marie Dougherty, 77, of Lima, Ohio, was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, September 16, 2024.

She was born on June 7, 1947, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Raymond and Nona (Kuhn) Wax Hoover.  She graduated in 1965 from Calvert High School.  She was married to Charles Alfred Dougherty and raised three children, Bethany, Benjamin, and Hannah Dougherty, in Bellevue, OH.

She is survived by son, Benjamin Dougherty, and daughter-in-law, Abigail Dougherty, and grandchildren, Adam, August, Emmett, and Marin; daughters Bethany Dougherty and Hannah Dougherty; four brothers, Stephen Hoover and Wayne Wax, both of Tiffin, Ohio, Eugene Hoover of Ligonier, Indiana, and David Hoover of Milford, Indiana; one sister, Margaret Phelps of Tiffin, Ohio; as well as a brother-in-law Charles W. Weininger of Tiffin, Ohio and an aunt Marilyn Anderson of Tiffin, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Nancy Weininger and Susan Hoover, and one brother, Dennis Hoover.

Alice found solace and strength in prayer and scripture.  Her unwavering faith in God guided her actions and her warm heart touched everyone around her.  Her love for singing brought joy to her life and inspired others.

A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating.  Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
