Alice Laugherty, 86, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, June 15, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

On June 15, 1928 in Seneca County, she was born to Merle and Imogene (Owen) Detterman. She married Neil E. Kieffer and he preceded her in death in 1980. She later married William A. Laugherty on July 7, 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Survivors include a son, J.D. Kieffer of Bettsville; 5 daughters, Candie Hill of Tiffin; Sandra (L. Truett) Lineberger of Virginia Beach, VA; Annette "Ann" (Mike) Davidson of Tiffin; Marsha Adkins of Akron; Cheryl Laugherty of Fremont; a sister, Donna J. (V. Wade) Burger of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Heidi, Aaron, Stefanie, Damon, Nathan, Vaughn, Kristin, Jessica, Ashley and Allison; 10 great grandchildren, Andrea, Garrett, Nickolas, Madison, Ian, Rileigh, Levi, Leah, Tyson and Valencia; a great great grandchild, Alaura; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Max V. Kieffer, brother, Calvin W. Detterman and a granddaughter, Meghan L. Kieffer.

Alice was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, a 1946 graduate of Melmore High School and a Labor Delivery Aide for years. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, a member of the Quilt Guild in Tiffin, and volunteered for Community Hospice Care. She loved being a grandmother to all of her grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ with Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. Burial will be private.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
