Alice V. Martin, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 4, 2008 at Hearth and Home at Friedman Village.
Alice was born June 1, 1930 in Tiffin to Charles and Ethel (Borer) VanCamp. She married Jacob "Jake" H. Martin March 6, 1954 in Tiffin.
She is survived by a daughter, Jill (John) Mathias of Tiffin; Jacob T. Martin of Princeton, NJ; four grandsons, Matthew and Nathan Mathias, Alexander and Michael Martin, one great granddaughter McKenna Lynn Mathias, two brothers, William (Donna) VanCamp of Tiffin; Jerry (Millie) VanCamp of Quitman, Miss., sister, Lois Walland of Tiffin; sister in law, Marge Stephens of Dayton; and many friends and family at Hearth and Home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, loving husband, Jake of 48 years, sisters, Miriam McCall and Joyce Wade and a brother, Charles VanCamp Jr.
Alice was a member of First Lutheran Church and a 1949 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She worked as a secretary for Hanson Machinery and retired as a Title I Teacher's Aide for the Tiffin City Schools. Alice and Jake enjoyed traveling around the United States together, spending time in Florida, Mississippi, North and South Carolina.
A Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Brodbeck officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, June 6, 2008 from 4-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, Hearth and Home, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
