Obituary

Alma L. Brandt, 86, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

She was born on May 5, 1930 in Seneca County to Alvin J. and Regina (Hoover) Depinet.  On May 20, 1950, in St. Aloysius in Republic, she married Robert G. Brandt and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2015.

Survivors include her sons, James Brandt of Tiffin and Donald (Stephanie) Brandt of Findlay; daughters, Diane (Joe) Strausbaugh of New Riegel, Rebecca Brandt of Tiffin and Lesa (Don) Walter of Fostoria; brothers, Richard (Rosie) Depinet of Republic, Earl (Pat) Depinet and Paul (Jane) Depinet, both of Tiffin; sister, Rita (Gene) Brown of Tiffin; grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey (Wesley) Sasser-Brandt; Jamie (Miranda) Brandt and their children, Kylie and Jamison; Angela (Joe) Gochenour; Nicole Strausbaugh and her children, Cameran, Zane and Skylar Cover; Joe (Kim) Strausbaugh and their children, Kaya and Addison; Jason (Michelle) Brandt and their children, Jayda and Maddox; Keisha (Matt) Shawber and their children, Taylor, Payton and Haley; Bud Schmidutz and his children, Brennan and Hudson; Jessica (Merl) Stanley; Jenna (Wesley Becthel) Brandt and her children, Kacie and Wesley, Jr..; Jeanise Hoeffel; Nathan (Jessica) Shellhouse and their children, Xavier, Kyle and Jaxton; Dylan (Arion Tiell) Shellhouse and his child, Kendyll; and Michelle Hister and her children, Tyler and Austin Fry; and Lindsay Schmidutz.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Diana Brandt; brother, Robert Depinet; sisters, Mary Brose, Kathleen Kimble and Ruth Schreiner; brothers-in-law, Dwight Kimble, Orland Schreiner and Virgil Brose; sister-in-law, Millie Depinet; grandson, Bradley James Brandt; and great granddaughter, Ryan McKinley Brandt.

Alma worked at Oberlin Processing for over ten years, was a member of SS Patrick & Andrew Catholic Church, Bascom and their Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbus.   She was an Ohio State University fan and enjoyed wintering in Florida for over 20 years, traveling, camping, playing solitaire and watching baseball and football.  Alma loved watching her grandchildren play in their sports activities and loved spending time with her family.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at SS Patrick & Andrew Parish, St. Andrew's Chapel, Liberty with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-2424.
