Ambrose W. Sturgill, 55, of Attica, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born on October 26, 1961, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Vincent and Ileen (Mullins) Sturgill. On December 26, 1989, he married Susan Greenman and they later divorced.

Survivors include five daughters, Brande Sturgill of Lorain, Gwen (Scott) Short of Macedonia, Andrea (Scott A. Irby) Sturgill of Rossford, Cortney (Thomas) Sargent of Perrysburg and Erin Sturgill of Castalia; three brothers, Arthur (Dee) Strugill of Campbellsville, KY, Clark (Colleen) Sturgill of Upper Arlington and Steve (Rosetta) Sturgill of Tiffin; two sisters, Karen (Steve Stathem) King of Liberty, KY and Margaret (Doug) Wilhelm of Holgate; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Sturgill.

Ambrose graduated in 1980 from Old Fort High School and attended Bowling Green State University. He worked at Tiffin Developmental Center, Clyde Whirlpool, Mama Jo's Pie in Vermillion, Eagle's Chip Company and the Steel Mill in Lorain. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, gardening, hunting, reading, raising his girls and spending time with his family.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Clarence Mullins officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
