Ann F. Maiberger, 80, of Tiffin, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Home Chiara Unit. She was born June 27, 1938, in Tiffin, to Oscar C. and Helen (Sexton) Steinbaugh. She is survived by Michael Maiberger, her husband of 61 years. Other survivors include two sons, Michael J. (Cindy) Maiberger of Troy and Steven Maiberger of Tiffin; three daughters, Jill (Cort) Reiser of Smithfield, Virginia, Michelle (Tag) Gandy of Florence, South Carolina and Leanne (Patrick) Smith of Tiffin; ten grandchildren; and a brother, Jan (Maria) Steinbaugh of Westerville. Ann was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1956 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. Her greatest joy in life was her family. In particular, the pride she felt from the close bond between her children and their families. Her kind gentle spirit and love for animals were evident to everyone she met. She loved large family gatherings, trips to the bay, Notre Dame football and working in her flowers. She will be deeply missed but her loving spirit will remain forever.………….. A heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers at St. Francis for their loving care to Ann and her family over the past 17 months and to Heartland Hospice for their care and support during her final days. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Friends may visit and share stories from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at the multi purpose room at St. Francis Home, 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.
