Obituary

Anne T. (Brown) Lovett, 92, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away on December 29, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1932, in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Vernon S. and Alice M. (Gregg) Brown. On August 24, 1952, she married William E. Lovett; he preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2011.

She is survived by her son, William (Debbie) Lovett of Summit, NJ; son, David (Pamela) Lovett of Wales, WI; daughter Susan McCarthy; son Timothy (Eileen) Lovett; Rebecca (Mark) Pickett, of Porthcawl, U.K.; nine grandchildren, Rachel (Josh) Connell, Justin (Koheun) Lovett, Philip (Helen) Pickett, Sarah (Callum) Elwood, Lydia (Phil) Chevassut, Katie (Phil) Grant, Beth Pickett, Shannon (Matt) McCarthy, Jackie McCarthy; and seven great-grandchildren, Ayvah, Will, Jaime, Lee, Lachlan, Lila, and Otto.

She was also preceded in death by her parents,two brothers, James K. and Sam V. Brown, and three sisters, Janice Boehler, Alice L. Homan, and Jacquelyn D. Lockart.

Anne was a devoted wife to her husband Bill for 59 years, and devoted mother of five children. She loved to cook and was famous for her annual Thanksgiving and Christmas banquets that she loved to host for her children and their families. She and Bill loved to travel, and Hawaii was their annual go to for many years. She and Bill were members of New Providence Presbyterian Church and Anne had a simple but genuine faith in Christ as her Savior. Anne was a generous and kind person who stayed positive, did not complain, and sought to encourage others.

She was an English teacher for nine years in Clark, NJ, then finished her MA in Education and then went on to complete her PhD from Columbia University, in Educational Psychology. She then ran her own business called "Lovett and Associates", and co-authored The Career Prescription: How to Stop Sabotaging Your Career and Put It on a Winning Track.

Her Celebration of Life service will be held at New Providence Presbyterian Church, 1307 Springfield Ave., New Providence, NJ 07974, Thursday,  January 9, 2025, at 1pm.  Following this, the family would like to invite friends and family to a reception for a time of refreshments and fellowship.
