Anthony R. Cortez, 42, of Toledo and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Friday afternoon, April 16, 2021 in Tiffin.

On December 12, 1978 in Eugene, OR; he was born to Gary A. and Paula M. (Hatcher) Cortez. Both parents survive, Gary A. Cortez of Stockton, CA and Paula M. Eckstine of Dorena, OR.

Surviving are his children, Hailey Cortez of Eugene, OR; Helena Cortez of Toledo; Isaac and Ian Cortez of Tiffin and their mother, Angela Kopp of Toledo; Carmen Cortez of Castleton, NY and her mother, Andrea Brunetto of Castleton, NY; brother, Vincent Cortez of Stockton, CA; sisters, Lindsay Eckstine of Eugene, OR; Shelley Cortez of Stockton, CA.

Anthony moved to Tiffin in 1999 and most recently to Toledo.  He enjoyed listening to music, was a great athlete overall, especially loved playing basketball, baseball and softball.

There will be no services in Tiffin.  His ashes will return to Oregon to be scattered at some of his favorite places.
