Antonette R. 'Annie' 'Toni' Smith, 79, of Tiffin, died Thursday morning, April 22, 2010, at her home.
On June 12, 1930, she was born in Tiffin, to Peter and Teresa (Sabolo) Gaietto. On June 10, 1950, she married James R. Smith in St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Tim (Carol) Smith of Huron; Doug Smith of Tiffin; Marty (Kim) Smith of Bellevue; three daughters; Barb (Tony) Faeth of New Riegel; Teresa (Craig) Neifer of Republic; Becky (Lynn) Kelbley of New Riegel; three brothers, Michael (Sue) Gaietto; Raymond (Frances) Gaietto; Paul (Mary Ann) Gaietto; all of Tiffin, two sisters-in-law, Helen Gaietto of Tiffin, Ruby Kapp of Fremont; a brother-in-law, Ken Smith of Fremont; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, James; is an infant son, Stephen Smith, a brother, James 'Jocko' Gaietto; a sister, Lucy Marra; an infant sister; Dominica Gaietto; and a granddaughter, Lisa Faeth.
Annie was a 1948 graduate of Calvert High School and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked for Life Touch Studios and General Electric for many years, retiring in 1984. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, cleaning St. Mary Church and Heartland Hospice for the past 7 years. Toni taught English to Japanese families in Tiffin. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, walking at the mall and spending times with friends at McDonalds.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, April 26, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 2-8 PM, Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice.
