Arthur R. "Dick" Heimerl, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 14, 2023 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born on February 2, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, to Arthur L. and Marie O. (Little) Heimerl.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Denise Heimerl of Brazil; best friend for 20 years, Nancy Frederick of Tiffin; and Nancy's children, Jeff (Cathy) Frederick of Findlay and Jenny Fruth of Pemberville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John Thomas Heimerl and James Leonard Heimerl.
Dick was a graduate of Union Scioto High School. After graduating, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from March 31, 1953 to March 20, 1955. Dick worked at Apex Machine & Tool Co., in Dayton, from 1955 to 1998. In 2001, he moved to Tiffin. He was a member of Hopewell Church of God, American Legion #169 and Tiffin Moose #846. Dick enjoyed volunteering at church, hunting, fishing, working with metal and carpentry. He attended every sporting event for Nancy's grandchildren, Kyle and Jami Fruth.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Bob Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veteran's of Fostoria. A luncheon will be at 1:30 P.M. at the Hopewell Church of God.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
