Obituary

Arthur D. Minzer, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening December 21, 2012 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.

He was born on September 26, 1927 in Attica, Ohio to Adam H. and Bessie L. (Schock) Minzer. On July 2, 1949 in Sycamore United Methodist Church, he married Clara L. Perry and she survives.

Also surviving is his son, John A. (Karen) Minzer of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Brenda (Jim) Bintz of Houston, TX; 3 sisters, Faye Walters of Castalia, Florence Henderson of Bloomville, and Dorothy Robinson of Tiffin; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren

Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 brothers, Cletus and Ray Minzer; and infant son, Joseph Minzer in 1950

Artie served in the United States Army during World War II and was a foreman at Webster Industries for 47 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed going to work everyday; never missing more than 2 days in 47 years. He was a member of Eagles Arie #402, Moose Lodge #846, AmVets Post #48 and VFW Post #2858. Artie was a volunteer cook at the Eagles and enjoyed golfing, camping at Lake Erie and vacationing at Myrtle Beach for the past 16 years. He had many friends and was very sociable and loved being around people.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
