Benjamin Owen 'Ben' Ostrander, 42, of Tiffin, died Sunday, January 13, 2008, at his residence. The son of Gary and Lynda A. (Samson) Smith, he was born in Turlock, CA., on November 8, 1965.

Survivors include his parents, of Tiffin, two brothers Garrett (Lisa) Ostrander of Maine, Ron Smith of Charleston, SC, a sister, Kim Birch of Tiffin, many nieces and nephews.

Ben was a 1984 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He proudly served in the US Army from 1986-1989. He worked in Connecticut for many years before moving back to Ohio. Ben was an original member of the Creep Band, played guitar and enjoyed rock climbing. He was a student and security guard at Terra Community College.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. David A. Ross officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
